Multi-armed bandits, i.e. immediate reward reinforcement learning, can be used to model a variety of real-world optimisation problems. In this talk, we will present the general multi-armed bandit problem and give an overview of some well-known bandit algorithms. We'll also take a look at some of the practical applications of bandits, ranging from medical trials to optimising online advertising.
