Digital Humanities lays at the intersection of computing or digital technologies and the disciplines of the humanities. A great chance for us – the datavis people – to get access to, to work with and to learn from data and information that might be hidden in cultural corpora.

We would love to see you at this meetup. Show up, have drinks and meet data vis enthusiasts! These are our speakers this time:

Giovanni Profeta (@profeta_g) is a research assistant at the Laboratory of visual culture-Interaction Design Lab SUPSI, in Lugano, where he develops applied research projects focused on data visualization and interaction design. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Design at Politecnico di Milano and he is conducting a research about visual tools for cultural institutions within DensityDesign Research Lab. Currently, he is working on his thesis project at Urban Complexity Lab at FH Potsdam. The project aims to graphically explore the impact of content uploaded and shared by cultural institutions on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. At the dataviz datavis meetup he will present the first results of his project.

Anne Baillot (AnneBaillot) is the leader of the junior research group »Berliner Intellektuelle 1800–1830« at the institute of German Literature in the Humboldt-University in Berlin.

Third speaker is not yet confirmed.
