Why React Native? (Vladislav Cherkasheninov, Taiste)

When it comes to cross-platform mobile development, React Native is currently the most popular option. In this talk, we discover what cross-platform development is, why it saves time and resources – and how Vladislav's own real-world experiences with React Native and similar technologies have been like as a software developer.

Towards More Accessible Applications - An Accessibility Checklist for (Android) Devs (Eeva-Jonna Panula, Oura)

Many Android applications are not accessible. Studies show that one reason for this is the developers' lack of tools and knowledge. This, among other reasons, led me to develop an accessibility checklist for Android developers as part of my master's thesis. The goal of that checklist is to make developing more accessible apps easier by providing instructions and resources. Many of these checks apply to iOS, too.
In this talk, I will discuss why apps are not accessible, explain how the checklist has been implemented, and provide tools developers can use to make their apps more accessible. So, after listening to this talk, you will have the knowledge to take to your upcoming projects to improve their accessibility.
