For almost all software projects, the source code is a precious asset whose value must be protected. For most software teams, the source code is a repository of the invaluable knowledge and understanding about the problem domain that the developers have collected and refined through careful effort. Version control protects source code from both catastrophe and the casual degradation of human error and unintended consequences.Git is a distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.During our half day workshop we cover all the basics of Git as well as more advanced workflows. If you want to know what is the difference between merging and rebasing, we got you covered. We will also cover most common mistakes like detached head and how to recover from those. For training, we use model where we first go through part of the theory and follow that with hands on exercise.After the workshop you should have basic knowledge of Git commands and how to use them inside your software development team.
