GOTO Night: How Serverless Computing will fundamentally change the way we "do IT"
The great migration to the cloud is underway. Everybody is busy creating Docker images and managing infrastructure. But a lot of this is just taking old ideas to a new environment. The ready availability of digital resources in the cloud environment is quickly turning them into commodities. And new patterns of how we write, deploy and run software are emerging with the rise of Serverless Computing. The way we do IT will fundamentally change in the next years, in an order of magnitude that we have not seen since the beginnings of the internet. Oliver Gutperl will talk about the changes, the challenges to old ideas and the way our thinking about IT is going to evolve.
Bio Oliver Gutperl is from Germany and has more than 20 years of experience in implementing and running web infrastructures. As a VP, Technology he helped scale one of the biggest European social networks to millions of users and connected shared parking spaces to the cloud via the Internet of Things as a startup CTO.
Today he is Kapitän at Digital Sailors, helping organizations sail their ship on the digital oceans. This involves creating and implementing cloud solutions as well as writing software for and in the cloud.
He has written a book on Nginx (German) and is a regular speaker at conferences and meetups.
PS: We will raffle one GOTO Berlin 2017 conference ticket! ;)
