GOTO Night: Internet of Things - A Phantom Menace ?
Internet of Things is a buzzword, but not only a buzzword. With the rising impact of the digital transformation on real industrial life in every application domain, uncertainty about technical and business process approaches keep growing in the community. The focus of quality aspects slowly but distinctly changes in the direction of totally different topics than the well-known functional aspects. State of the art software quality comprises aspects like heterogeneous IT landscapes, components that are smaller but each provided with more own “power to act”, and increasing impact of consumer driven requirements. To tackle those challenges, a skill shift and a complete rethinking about engineering, and validation is required. Proactive quality engineering instead of retrospective quality assurance becomes more and more important. This talk discusses the challenges and their impacts as well as the way ASQF and other independent associations contribute with skill standards to provide solutions to manage the challenges.
As managing expert and business developer within ASQF e.V. - the most important independent association for software and system quality in the German-speaking area – Armin aims to further develop ASQF in terms of content, organization and services for members and partners. His profound expertise in system and software quality, in processes and methods is based on 25 years of experience in industrial and research projects in the domain of quality assurance, development and processes in complex and safety relevant domains. Armin is founding member and the current president of German Testing Board e.V.
