Helsinki Data Science Meetup - After Summer Edition

We are happy to invite you to the next event, which is kindly hosted by DNA. Much appreciated.

This time we are excited to announce two great speakers:
First we will have DNA’s Chief Data Scientist, Jarno Kartela, speak about “Data, algorithms, and the telecom customer: DNA’s journey.” Over the past two years, DNA has gone through an intensive journey from having a data infrastructure of a traditional telecom company to building a modern Big Data capability to offer a consistent customer experience to today’s demanding telecom customer. In his presentation, Jarno will tell about the successes and pitfalls along the journey and the exciting steps ahead.
Jarno’s speech will be followed, and we are very excited to have managed to fly him over from the UK, by Tom Betts, the Chief Data Officer of the Financial Times who will speak about ”Disrupting news: How big data is transforming the future of news and media.” The ongoing evolution of technology and global internet connectivity has completely transformed media consumption. News organizations have needed to adapt to the changing demands of consumers. This has required rethinking not only editorial coverage but also the overhaul of newspaper business models. Tom will explain what is behind the FT's digital growth, and how customer data has both informed this transition and created new growth opportunities.
As always, the aim is to come together and network with other participants inspired by our great speakers.
