If someone randomly asked you the question: “what is digital transformation?” how easily could you answer it? When we recently quizzed some of our friends on this point, many found themselves surprisingly stumped. So on April 11, at our Berlin Pre-Work Talk, we’re going to explore what digital transformation really means, and we want you to rise to the challenge of answering this question yourselves.
In addition to turning the microphone on the crowd, we’re pleased to welcome Jillian C. York, the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Director for International Freedom of Expression. Jillian was recently part of the Princeton-Fung Global Forum, which discussed whether in a digital age filled with cyber hacks, communication silos, fake news and government surveillance, can liberty really survive?
Her writings on the impact of digitization on society have also been featured in Al Jazeera, the Guardian, Foreign Policy, and the New York Times, so we’re very excited to hear about her current research and perspective on the topic. As many people in our community are in the business of “digital transformation”, we invite you to come along to share your opinions, and contribute to a wider discussion on what this all means, and how we can ensure we remain on track to create positive impact in the future. See you at our Berlin studio on April 11. Doors open at 8:30am, and talks take place from 9 – 10am. Find out more about Jillian and her work here: https://www.eff.org/about/staff/jillian-york
