You're invited to a social R evening in Potsdam. Please bring food and drinks for the buffet.
My place is 5 minutes walking from the famous Schloss Sanssouci, so you can combine the meetup with some sightseeing. Further tips are Park Babelsberg and the Barberini museum.
We plan to simply have a nice socializing event (with neRdy jokes, of course) and no special topic. We also have a home cinema for 10-15 people, so we won't be bored ;-). Please don't forget to bring food and drinks for the buffet (you can also drop things off early and go sightseeing first). We have lots of space, so if you want to spend the night here afterwards, just bring a sleeping bag.
This is the same day of the R package writing tutorial (see below), so you can join both if you want. Please note that you need to register for the tutorial separately per email.
Let me remind you that the R Consortium is conducting a survey to understand how people use R and how the community wants to improve R: https://rconsortium.limequery.com/214136?lang=en&origin=berlinrusersmeetupgroup
The tutorial on R package writing + debugging is on Wednesday August 2, 2-5 PM at Potsdam University in Golm. Please register per email via [masked]. We will build a package from scratch and debug some intentionally built in errors. A basic knowledge about writing a function is prerequired, as well as an own laptop with recent R + Rstudio. The material is available in chapter 8 (Functions & Packages) of my slides at https://github.com/brry/course
