Bürknerstr 12, Berlin
The Sonic Code Sessions are open conversations between sound artists, coders, musicians, learners and anyone interested in generative music and the use of computing skills for sonic expression. There is time for people to present something if they want to, followed by informal discussions.
Whether you consider yourself to be a beginner or an expert, a theorist or a practicing sound artist/technologist, we invite you to join us every other Tuesday at Spektrum, ask questions if you want, contribute with your comments and maybe show a project you're working on. You are encouraged to bring a laptop to the SCS. Having more people simultaneously experimenting, coding or hacking makes it much more fun!
Shout random words at us on Twitter @scsBLN or on Facebook
... or read our hackpad to see what we usually talk about: http://scs.funprogramming.org
A NOTE ON DIVERSITY The SCS team is committed to embracing diversity. We want everyone to feel welcome and supported. This is why we are specifically reaching out to women artists, designers, theorists, students and learners. We want you to know that this community belongs to YOU. We wish for a diversity of opinions to be represented and we will go out of our way to make the largest possible range of voices heard. This invitation extends, of course, to everyone who feels underrepresented at art & tech events.
SAFE SPACE POLICY Our events are free and open to everyone, regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, social situation and religion (or lack thereof). We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free creative space where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves. We expect you to respect and contribute to this environment.
We support the Berlin Code of Conduct: https://rubyberlin.github.io/code-of-conduct/ Please make sure you agree with its content.
ACCESSIBILITY Spektrum is located on the ground floor. We will happily provide assistance to those who need it. Please let us know how we can make the space more accessible and your visit more comfortable!
DO I NEED TO SPEAK GERMAN? We speak mostly English so international guests are more than welcome! We also speak German, Spanish, Portuguese and Finnish.
WHERE IS IT? Spektrum Bürknerstr. 12 Near U8 Schönleinstr.
Thanks to the Creative Code Berlin community for bringing creative people together since 2012. This event description is based on theirs.
Thanks also to the original SuperCollider meetups which inspired this event.
