While previously focused on usability testing and ergonomics, the digital services industry was pushed by the boom in mobile and e-commerce to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to user experience engineering. State of the art practices include studying target audiences’ motivations, measuring user expectations and needs, prototyping, designing micro interactions, testing MVPs, setting up A/B hypotheses and more.

We will cover these topics as part of our morning workshop. By combining theory sessions with hands-on exercises, you will walk away with a good overview of the latest best practices when it comes to doing UX and an understanding of the pitfalls to avoid.

The workshop is aimed at developers, startup founders, managers and creative professionals working with digital services who want to learn more about UX, improve their skills, get new knowledge and gain a competitive advantage.

About the coaches:

Oleg has worked with over thirty mediatech companies in Europe and the US over the past fifteen years as CTO and founder, creating products used by millions of people. He has also been an early stage investor, coach at Startup Sauna and done due diligence work for a number of European VCs.

Vlad is a passionate technologist, who is especially interested in Human-Computer Interaction. Having graduated from The University of Minnesota, where he did research on usability of social web services, Vlad has worked as a usability professional and user experience engineer for multiple consulting firms and startups. He contributed to various projects in the EU and Russia, including authoring a web interface for Moscow city e-government app and developing a social service for the CIS market.
