Spritmuseet, Djurgårdsvägen 38-40, Stockholm
This is really not a meetup, but a great event that we are part of in the form of being featured in the film and hosting the panel discussion afterwards. Please note that you have two chances but that you need to sign up for the event separately: http://stockholmact.se/schedule/waste-tasting-spritmuseet/
On the 23rd and 24th of August, Electrolux and the Spritmuseum invite you to experience a unique dining experience unlike any other—filled with tastes and zero waste.
Throughout the evening, we’ll be serving you the chance to challenge your senses and notions of where amazing food can come from. And together with star chef Petter Nilsson, we’ll be creating 10 extraordinary dishes – cooked entirely from tasty ingredients that would have usually been thrown out with the other 1,2 billion tons of food Swedes throw away every year.
Challenge your preconceptions about where proper fare can come from as the less noble parts of produce find their place on your plate and into your stomach. Enjoy potato peels in your kombucha, learn how bread edges become miso paste, take in chicken hock as it’s stirred into a pearly drink of crushed-cherry seeds. Inspired, playful and visionary, our aim is to deliver to you a unique dining experience while also inspiring you to take better care of the environment.
Preceding the feast, there will be an exclusive preview of the documentary Tastes of Waste, followed by a discussion from a panel representing some of Sweden’s most progressive companies and organizations.
About the documentary
Presented by Electrolux, Tastes of Waste is a mini-documentary centered around food waste while also bringing together some of the biggest names in food like Michelin chef Dan Barber, urban-farming pioneer Anastasia Cole Plakias, and food-tech specialist Johan Jörgensen to weigh in on the state of food. So please join us for 27 minutes of foodie facts as we jump fearlessly from freezers and bycatch to bite-sized solutions and global challenges.
