I took on a mission to migrate one of Yle Areena’s major web apps into the new app directory based routing scheme introduced as a beta in Next.js 13.

Join me as we go through the migration process step by step. The new routing scheme is heavily a work in progress, but I’ll share my views of the pains and gains of the new scheme this far. What kind of issues did I run into and is the new one better than the old one?
