Eeva-Jonna Panula: Android, Animations and Reduced motion
Not everyone enjoys animations. Different types of movement and animations can be distracting or cause symptoms such as nausea or dizziness. I'm one of those who suffer from these - things like parallax scrolling make me feel sick. And the way that I (and so many others) survive in the digital world filled with animations and movement is the operation system level setting for reducing animations.
In this talk, I'll discuss this theme from the perspective of creating inclusive native Android apps. After listening to this talk, you'll know about the problems that animations might cause for some people. You'll also learn what you need to do to respect that setting in native Android apps.
Marianna Österlund: Why Content Designers and UI/UX-designers should work together
Accessibility goes beyond code and that is the key in this talk. What is the point in technically accessible services if the contents and structures are hard to understand? Marianna lets you into a real-life business case which proves that content design and UI/UX design should be done in collaboration. And who knows! It might even be a gamechanger and take your service’s usability to the next level.
